Deal or No Deal - what you need to do.

What happens when there is a 'no deal?'

The UK will leave the EU on 31st December 2020. In the case of a no deal BREXIT, shipments between the UK and Europe will be treated the same as NON EU Worldwide destinations and the following information will be compulsory with all shipments:

Economic Operator Registration & Identification (EORI)

UK businesses trading with the EU will need to register for an EORI number. This is free to do, and can be done online in a few simple steps. This will allow you to import/export from the UK and only needs to be done once.

Commodity Codes (HS Codes)

All items listed on the commercial invoice will require separate commodity codes for each item declared with individual values. This will be essential in ensuring your customers pay the correct amount of duty.

Commercial Invoices

All shipments leaving the UK to Europe will require a commercial invoice for clearance purposes. Duties & Taxes will be payable upon arrival at the delivery destination and will vary based on the value and commodity.

Bookings & Contact Information

Customs will need to contact your clients for clearance instructions - it is crucial to have as much contact information for the receiver as possible. Including both telephone numbers and email addresses.

We launched a new booking system on 1st April 2019 which will have the capability to assist you with shipping through these changes.

Still unsure?

If you would like any further assistance through these changes and guidance with the online booking system, one of the team would welcome the opportunity to come and visit you. Get in touch for more information.
